Micanopy is the oldest inland town in Florida and is named for a Seminole chief. It was originally a trading post but now is a center for antiques in North Florida. There is a wide range of headstones from simple wooden headboards to wrought iron-enclosed family plots and an eternal mourner. It has a serene, genteel atmosphere with only the occasional eerie prickle. |
